Taiwan

There is no commercial pursuits in the atmosphere of Hon-Wa. And, there is only a sincere heart to Chinese folk dance majored professional performers. Most of members were invited to perform abroad several times. Meanwhile, they also popularize the Chinese folk dance to international, leaving the remarkable history of Chinese art around the world.

The purpose of establishing Hon-Wa folk Dance troupe is to exalt the art of Chinese dance, and help the new generation of dancers to show their talents and gifts. For the future plans of Hon-Wa, we hope to create more local, traditional, Taiwanese styled dancing arts. We look forward to your participations for popularizing Chinese/Taiwanese dances, and making a big step with us. From the ancient time to now, "color of red" is most significant color to symbolize Chinese. When people talk about "passion", "happiness", "job promotion" and so on, they think of the bright, red color. We believe that the symbol of "red" will come along with the Chinese community in the whole world. No matter in Taiwan or in mainland China, the roofs of the traditional houses was always covered by tiles. This kind of early staged construction is always familiar for Chinese people. That is the reason we choose this red color and the ancient architectural object-tile as our troupe name that is Red Tile - Hon - WA.

"Wielkopolska" - know in the past as Major Polonia - the land of green valleys and many lakes - is the cradle of Polish statehood. In the past, this land has been characterized by living and rich folklore, which appears in music, dances, songs and costumes. Still to day, people here play old folk instruments. Here also are found different compositions of folk bands. Folk customs and annual ceremonials, which originated in the immemorial past, are still kept alive. Rich in many small subregions, Wielkopolska shows us a whole variety of music, songs, dances and costumes.

The Folkloristic Group "Cepelia - Poznan" came into being in January 1962. At the very beginning, the Group was attached to The Union of Folk and Artistic Handicraft Cooperatives "Cepelia" in Warsaw, next it was acting under the auspices of "Estrada Poznanska" and at present it is under protection of Provincial Public Library in Poznan.
