Folklore group Name: “Kerlenn Pondi”

Kerlenn Pondi gathers dancers and musicians from all over Brittany, and proposes a very exciting show based on Breton culture in general, and especially on dances and musics from Pontivy area, which are famous as the most spectacular dances in Brittany. Kerlenn Pondi initiated the tradition of dance and music shows in Brittany in the 60’s, and is still one of the major Breton bands. The Bagad counts up to 40 musicians, and the Cercle Celtique up to 25 dancers. Both groups compete each year in the higher grades of Breton dance and music, and Kerlenn Pondi won the Bagad championship in 2001.

Kerlenn Pondi likes to promote its culture outside of its territory, and uses to make foreign tours each year : Spain, Italy, Man Island, Poland, Azores, Portugal, China are some of the latest destinatioins. Kerlenn Pondi also participated each year to the major celtic festivals in Paris for Saint Patrick’s Day, at the Stade de France or in Bercy Hall since 2002.
