Tarlak State University Performing Arts

TSU Performing Arts Dance Troupe, Its Origin The "TSU Performing Arts" traces its root from an informal groups of students in the early '80s who perform dances during programs and activities of the then Tarlac College of Technology, now Tarlac State University. In 1983, Marcelino Balanquit, a pioneer member of the group graduated and was designated to head the group. He spearheaded the activities up to this time. The TSU Performing Arts is now composed of selected students at the university's various colleges who are committed to enhancing and developing their skills and potentials in dance and music. The regular pieces of training, practices, and hard work significantly contributed to their successful and highly appreciated performances in the different occasions, conferences, and programs of the university and the outside communities, which eventually led them to perform in other schools, cities, provinces and abroad. The group’s first participation in international festival was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during 1994 TARI-Malaysia International Dance Festival. And since then, they were able to participate and perform in Hong Kong, Surin International Folklore Festival in Thailand, Samcheok and Seoul South Korea, MAATAF Folk Festival in Israel, Festival Du Sud in France and in Spain, Rasas Da;ns Festival in Singapore, Around the World Festival in Al Ain, Dubai in United Arab Emirates, Tugu Budaya International Folkdance Festival in Sabah, Malaysia, and the World and European Artistic Dance Championships in Moscow in Russia and 11th International Folk Festival 2022-Nepal.
